Booty Beauty: MAVI Jeans On HauteLook.com!

Hi, all!  So, yes... I know, this has NOTHING to do with cosmetics.  But I find the idea of the "Perfect" fitting pair of jeans so elusive, I'd probably have a better chance spotting a unicorn in my morning breakfast.  [It's almost as difficult as finding the perfect foundation!]

Enter: MAVI Jeans [sale on www.hautelook.com]

I discovered this brand of denim back in 2008 when I had the opportunity to study abroad in Istanbul, Turkey for a summer program focusing on sacred interiors and converted spaces.  Once everything was finalized, I IMMEDIATELY went to work searching out all of the awesome goodies I'd be hauling back from my travels.  I asked my instructors and they all said, "MAVI" jeans were the one thing I HAD to bring back.

The best roomie ever and I hunting for food after shopping the streets of Istiklal summer '08.

Back then, they were still being carried at Nordstrom's... and for some strange reason, they just never took off.  Maybe it was because the price-point wasn't quite designer and wasn't quite a bargain.  Their marketing wasn't exactly the best in the world either... But it's the FIRST designer brand from Turkey to branch out world wide, "Mavi" meaning "Blue" in Turkish.  I did some more reasearch online and found women to swear by them and curse them at the same time for no longer being so easily available in the United States...

My verdict on these jeans?  They're GREAT for curvy women.  I have hips and a bit of a booty.  I'm also petite, but a visit to my local tailor can always remedy that.  They give enough stretch without being too thin of material and cheap feeling.  They're not too heavy, not too stiff.  I've found True Religion jeans reject my shape [those are for extremely skinny girls w/ no booty], Seven jeans don't like the size of my thighs.  Citizens of Humanity jeans are nice, but I've not liked the styles coming from them as of late.  Joe's jeans are probaby the front runner for me... but although they accomodate my thighs, booty and hips, they have the tendency to cut into my belly when I sit down.  [I hate that feeling!]

MAVI jeans have been my only true love, and I really wish they would come back.  Nordies only carries the men's styles [which are lacking by the way] and the only time I can find them is when they do sales through sites like HauteLook.com and Ebay.  The Lindy's are my FAVORITE skinny cut.. so much, I stocked up on 3 pairs, since they're only $39 online right now!!!  I bought my first pair in Istanbul for $120!

Now, as much as I don't want to be a brandwhore or a snob with jeans, I'm going to have to say it makes a world of difference when you pay for quality.  My first pair of MAVI's have lasted me near 4 years and they still look the same.  Of course, they are a far leap from cheap-o Forever21 denim... which last me about 2 years max until I see visible signs of wear and tear...

I definitely love MAVI jeans because Turkish cotton is one of the best in the world... and their textiles are made of such better quality than those I've found from other countries.  What else did I bring back from Istanbul?  A few pashmina scarves, a nargile [hookah], Turkish slippers, and a load of EVIL EYE accessories.  I got lucky and scored a pair of MAVI jeans w/ an evil-eye charm on the back pocket!  What better way to ward off evil than through a charm always watching your backside?!  =D

Thank you so much for the heads up! I'm also petite but with a booty and hips....but my waist is thin. Do you think these jeans would work for me as well? I hate buying jeans because they always gap like crazy in the waist, but are tight in the hips and thighs. So frustrating!

What you described is EXACTLY what my body type would be. I also have a bit of an issue with muscular calves...

I think it's definitely worth a shot, since you can still return them for a full refund on HauteLook, AND they're only $39 instead of being $120. Go for it!
